Dr. Ken Gerdes Girls’ High school is a unique girls’ boarding school that offers the 8-4-4 national curriculum.
Our vision is to provide holistic education that focuses on the intellectual, emotional, psychological, social, spiritual and physical development of girls between the ages of 14-18 years. The pursuit of academic excellence is at the centre of our educational approach.
Our students access a broad range of subjects that equip them with knowledge and develop independent learning with critical thinking skills in: Mathematics, Pure Sciences: Chemistry, Biology and Physics; Applied Sciences: Agriculture; Languages: English, and Kiswahili; Technical subjects: Business Studies and Computer studies; Humanities: History, C.R.E and Geography.

Teachers at Dr. Ken Gerdes are not only good at academics, but are well skilled at treating every child equally with compassion and care.
We aim to facilitate learning in an enjoyable and girl-friendly approach through integration of ICT and out of classroom activities such as local, regional and international trips and excursions which concretize concepts learnt in class. Assessments are carried out at various periods in the learning process. Our record speaks for itself.
We have consistently set excellent academic standards since inception. The school posted impressive results with a mean score of 7.631 in 2021 KCSE exams positioning the school position 4 in Trans-Nzoia County and position 115 in the whole country. 36 girls out of 49 attained the minimum university qualification grade of C+ and above.
